Frequently Asked Questions

  • Some people don’t mind doing internet research or travel planning. There’s a few of us who actually quite like it! But occasionally, even the best planners need to ask an expert for help or simply double check their homework. The info might be out there, but I obsess over finding the best, most accurate information about your destination(s) so you can have an unforgettable travel experience. Most of us have limited time and money for travel, so why wouldn’t you want to invest in a solid plan that will increase your odds of having a problem-free, enjoyable travel experience?

  • All of my itineraries include a day-by-day, hour-by-hour schedule so you’ll know where to be and when. If requested, I can also include lodging and activity options so you have a better idea of where to stay and what to do on your journey. I also put together a custom Google Map for you so you have a nice visual way of seeing all of the individual stops and points of interest on your trip in one place.

  • At this time, no. I believe my time is best spent during the planning portion of your trip. My goal is to give you a solid plan that you can follow and execute to the best of your ability! Once I send over your completed plan via email, it’ll be on you to book your transportation (e.g. flight, rental car), lodging, activities, and go enjoy your trip! Also, with the huge scope of online providers and booking platforms available to the modern traveler, making reservations is no longer the most painstaking part of planning a trip. It’s the destination research and selection process of worthwhile places and experiences that’s most anxiety-inducing and time-consuming.

  • Yes. Once I hear from you, we’ll email back and forth about how many hours of help or days of travel that you need help with. My minimum for all custom itineraries is three days ($90/day). I do knock off 10% off of your total planning fee if you have me plan trips longer than seven days. (2) rounds of itinerary revisions are included in your trip planning fee. All fees can be paid securely online via Stripe (all major credit and debit cards accepted).

  • After you’ve filled out my pre-trip traveler questionnaire and we’ve completed our intro call, it usually takes me 7-10 days to put together a first draft for you, depending on my capacity. Given that, it’s definitely in your best interest to provide both of us with as much lead time as possible before your intended departure date. This is critical for a number of reasons, but mostly to ensure you’re getting the best possible flights (if applicable), rates, availability for lodging, activities, and other reservations. That becomes a lot more difficult if we have, say, only have three months to plan for an international trip. The more time the better. I started planning my own honeymoon more than a year in advance (and it was absolutely worth it)!

  • I’m always up for a good challenge! Whether it’s a bachelor party to Toronto or a family trip to Glacier National Park, I found that the more complex the plan, the more interesting. I love figuring out how to get from Point A to Point C (with a quick stop at B, for photos), and making everything work within a certain time frame and budget. The problem solving aspect is the the must fun for me, and finding tips and tricks from other folks on travel forums, communities, and websites. Whatever trip you have cooked up, I’m confident that I’ll be able to help you make it the best it can be! I work with solo travelers, couples, families, and friend groups.

  • Since I don’t offer any pre-baked, off-the-shelf vacations, my destination list is at the moment, limitless! Unless you’re looking for a commercial flight into space, let’s keep things on planet Earth, shall we? Between staycations, classic American roadtrips, or fancy international honeymoons, I have experience planning a wide variety of trips with lots of different destinations.
